So I'm moving at the start of July, and have been planning for a long time to adopt a cat once I'm settled in there. However, I just found out that a friend of a friend has a four-year-old cat that needs to be rehomed sooner to get out of a volatile situation. Would it be bad for the cat to come to my house & then move with me to my new apartment in a little less than a month from now? I'd of course be planning to introduce him to toys, furniture, food, and litter that would come with us to the new apartment.
Also, I'm currently living in my parents house, which is very much not cat-proofed & my mom is a bit afraid of cats, so I might have to keep him to one or two safer rooms upstairs during the next few weeks.
I'd love to be able to help out & give this lil guy a friendlier home environment, but not if the situation will only stress him out. I appreciate any advice you guys have!!
