Hello this happened 2 years ago but I thought about posting it here what happened was my Syrian hamster Ringo (RIP) had escaped his cage while I was asleep and I destroyed my room looking for him but now he was he found I assumed he went into the wall or somehow crawled out a door or window and died I got so desperate I brought in my German Shepherd (Pandora) she loved this hamster like nothing else every second on his wheel she stared at him while on her hind legs I brought her in and told her to find Ringo she immediately went to his cage sniffed the bedding but kept smelling the floor until she went to my dresser where she immediately started scratching the carpet underneath the dresser it had no legs so I assumed Ringo wouldn’t be under there. I was wrong he somehow squeezed underneath and was sleeping and I never hugged my dog harder ( and for his full 2 1/2 year life Ringo never escaped again)
