I adopted my pittie girl (Nova) from a local rescue shelter about a month ago and she is an a absolute sweetheart!
Well, at least towards humans. 😅
I was told that by one of the employees that she is dog aggressive and she has an alpha female mentality; especially towards other female dogs. They didn’t know really anything about her past and she was brought into the shelter when she was pregnant. She gave birth to her puppies, weaned them, socialized them, and they were all adopted and she was there for awhile until I rescued her.
I am obviously not César Millán but I was pondering the thought and possibility if she was reunited with her pups; could it help resolve her dog aggression?
I’m wanting to see if it could work because I would rather not have to muzzle her if we go out in public, in fear of her becoming aggressive if other dogs are present. With her being a pit-mix (and it being blatantly obvious her having the head/face of a pit), I don’t want others to stigmatize her because she is a pit and feed into the negative stereotypes associated with pitbulls/pit mixes.
Thank you in advance and if you have any helpful advice/tips; I will gladly take it!
