Should I bring my cat with me to my boyfriend's or leave her alone for the night (once every week and half)?

Hi, I've been posting a lot here. I'm sorry for junking up you feed, but I'm a new cat owner and just have a lot of question. I just want to make sure I'm doing right by my cat. Alright, onto the question at hand. My boyfriend and I are seniors in college. I recently adopted a one year old cat. Next fall I will be living in a duplex with one other roommate and her two cats. Her and her cats are there less than half the time because she primarily stays at her boyfriends. Before I had the cat, my boyfriend and I would switch off where we would sleep (trade off between my place and his place). Now that I have my cat, I don't want to leave her, but I also don't expect my boyfriend to always be hanging out and sleeping at my place. He loves my cat, but I'm not sure if he would want her at his apartment (she has her claws and he would be nervous she would scratch something up). However, he did say we could try having her at his place. I'm also not sure how I would retrieve her after class to bring her back home. I would like to be able to sleep at his place like every week and half or so. Would it be healthier to leave her at my place (hopefully when my roommate is home) or transport her back and forth between apartments? Or should I just suck it up and stay with her every night? I'll admit I didn't think this through and I honestly wasn't even sure my school would be open for the fall. Any advice is very much appreciated.

TDLR; should I leave my cat alone when I sleep at my boyfriends every week and half or so, or should I transport her to his place, or should I suck it up and be there every night with her?
