New-ish cat mom here. I’ve had two four-month old kittens that are litter mates for about two months now. They get along wonderfully and are super attached to each other. All three of us live in my one bedroom apartment and this hasn’t posed any problems for me until now.
My dad was given this kitten around the same age as the both of mine and decided he would leave it outside to fend off pests. This kitten is a little boy and the sweetest thing ever. He’s so affectionate and was obviously born, or adopted, as someone’s house pet. Given all of this, him tossing him outside didn’t sit right with me and I took responsibility for the kitten. I named him Genos, like the cyborg from One Punch Man and he is now living with me and my kittens.
He doesn’t get along with one of them, Deidara, who hisses and runs away from him every time she sees him. Genos just ignores her but she’s obviously really upset with the change and there isn’t enough room in my place for her to really hide so she feels safer. Especially since she will follow me every I go, and inevitably runs into him as a result.
As for him and Sasori, my second kitten, Sori is kind of obsessed with him . He follows him everywhere trying to play with him. Genie is far from interested and has even hissed at him a couple of times. I think that they could eventually get along well though, since they are even comfortable sleeping a couple of feet away from each other now. I’m not too worried about them honestly, just Genie and Dara.
It’s only been a couple of days but if this keeps up, I’ll have to give Genos back to my dad and I really would hate to do that. Did I make a mistake by taking him in? Will Dara stop being afraid of him eventually? Cat experts/pro-cat parents help me out please.
