Hello everyone. As of 8/13, my cat mr meow started experiencing leg loss and was in major pain. I went to my primary vet provider thinking it was a broken leg as he just turned 2yrs old this same day it was the only thing that made sense. They couldn’t find anything physically, so I immediately asked for X-rays, they mentioned a minor abnormality in his hip. Thinking he might’ve been born with this abnormality and that he was fine, we weren’t sent home. I got home and got him out of his cage and I noticed he couldn’t walk at all or stand, was crying louder and in worse pain. Went back ten min later they started blood tests, thinking it was saddle thrombosis (blood clot in legs). She called me a day later saying his heart enzymes were elevated at 324, recommended a cardiologist.
A couple days later he was breathing weird and having muscle spams so I went to a busy ER and was sent home because they were so busy and his vitals were normal.
Went to the ER for cardiologist a couple weeks later because he was having heavy breathing problems and muscle spasms still, I was getting worried. Got cardiograph and X-ray on lungs. Nothing was detected so I got referred to a neurologist.
Today 10/11, the neurologist recommended X-rays on his leg as she didn’t think it was a neurological problem. Turns out now, instead of his one leg abnormality, both of his hips are fractured to the point they’re almost completely broken.
Considering I’ve been to 4 different places, would it be possible for refunds or is there anything I can legally push like neglect? I spent $3,000+ just to find out his injury was missed or looked over on, and it has now gotten worse than before. Covid has made it hard, I’ve been sitting in cars trusting these providers to look after him as I can’t come in with him. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
