I have 2 small dogs. I live alone and work a full time job where I'm out of the house 10 - 12 hours a day. I'm kind of looking for advice on how or if I can train my dogs to be fine for the hours I'm gone. I've had them for 6 years and this is the first time I've lived alone.
I tried to cage them but they absolutely freak out. I put them both in the same cage which is built for a very large dog. They end up clawing and biting at it until they can't anymore I'm afraid they'll break their teeth or something worse. After awhile I ditched the kennel and let them run around the house while I was out which was fine for some time but lately I've been coming home to multiple accidents around the house.
At this point I'm not sure what the best solution here is or how I can make this situation any better for me or for them. My place smells terrible. Does anyone have suggestions or advice for me?
