In the beginning of October, I started fostering a stray cat who was taken to the vet because he was sneezing a lot. The sneezing eventually turned into a gagging/retching sound (as if he were trying to cough up a hairball) and this went on for a week until finally the vet diagnosed it as an upper respiratory infection. He was given Zithromax for a week and he finally got better.
Since then I've actually adopted him, and around two weeks ago, the gagging/retching came back so we immediately took him back to the vet and he said it was Bronchitis. He was given Vibramycin for a week and Prednisolone for two weeks (full dose for 7 days, then half for 7 more days). Everything was fine, he seemed to be okay up until the last two days of Prednisolone when it flared up again.
Now when he's making the sounds, it's only when he's asleep. He seems to be okay when he's running around and playing.
Is there anything I could do at home that would help or do I go straight back to the vet? He has the fits once or twice every day and I just want to help him be at ease.
