Dog is resistant to running with me?

I have a 3 year old shepherd mix and a 2 year old pit/catahoula. They’re VERY energetic dogs and I live in an apartment and don’t always have time during the work week to take them to the dog park every day. So I’ve started running with them in the morning to try and get them the exercise they need. We started at a mile and a half and are now up to two miles. My pittie LOVES it, but I actually have to pull my shepherd to get him to keep pace with us. He recently checked out fine at his vet appointment, so I don’t think he’s hiding any injuries, and he full out sprints for 30 minutes straight whenever we go to the park. Just seems to me like he’s not interested in it. I want to keep the habit because it’s been making me feel great, and I want him to be part of the pack activity because otherwise he won’t be getting good daily exercise. Any tips on how to get him more enthusiastic? Or should I just keep tugging at him to get him to keep up and eventually he will adapt?
