I live in a spacious studio so there is a lot of space for me and my two cats. But there are no boundaries either. My younger cat has been trying to play with me at 4:00 AM every night. She tries to snuggle into me. She hops on top of me and starts kneading my head or stomach.
I appreciate the love and attention this little creature is giving me but it messes with my sleep. I’ve tried two solutions.
-
I tried the pat on the nose that I’ve seen female cats do to their kittens. It didn’t work. The kitten thinks I want to play.
-
I locked her up in the bathroom. She got really sad and started meowing loudly. For her emotional health and my neighbors’ sleep, I gave this up.
Tell me how to tell her no. I don’t speak the cat language and there seems to be no school for that.
