My cat has insane food aggression

So I made a post a couple of weeks ago asking why my cat is so crazy about food. I think I have really underestimated just how aggressive he gets.

My roommate was cooking steak and my cat jumped on the counter and grabbed it. We tried to pull it away, but his bite was so strong that I had to yank it out from his mouth, and he literally tore the steak apart! A thick, raw steak. I wouldn't even be able to do that if my life depended on it.

After chasing him around the house, he hid in a corner and started to growl and swipe at us. He looked just....really fucking crazy. We managed to take it away from him and put him in the cage for us to just recollect and think about the what the fuck just happened.

This is the most recent case. Before this, he just always fucking jumps on our table while we're eating, our stove even if there's fire, he's jumping into trash cans and trying to climb into our fridge. No matter how many times we take him off the counter he jumps right back up within 5 seconds. We feed him enough, more than enough honestly, because he's getting fat. I honestly don't know how to train that aggression out of him. We don't want to use spray bottles because I heard it just makes the cat scared of you and engage in the behavior when you're not around, but I'm starting to think it may be the only option I have left.
