To anyone wanting to adopt a Dog

Adoption of a dog from a shelter may seem risky, but you are saving a life.

But one point I want to get across is please, do not look just at the adorable puppies and dogs that run to you. I volunteered at a shelter and it broke my heart to see puppies come and get adopted in a day while some of the sweetest dogs that are a few years old spend weeks ina shelter before being move to another. I understand that it is easier to fall in love with a little ball of love then a dog that may be less then perfect. But please at least give them some of your time. I adopted a four year old pit bull that spent a year in a shelter. She sat in the back of her cage and did not run to lick me like some of the dogs. She had a few issues that made her unfavorable to many people who came in. I adopted her and after a few weeks she became the perfect dog, and all she needed was love and patience. I am not saying those who adopt the cuties dogs are wrong, not even close. All I’m saying is give the forgotten dogs a chance

TL:DR: give dogs in shelters that are older and not as perfect a chance, they can be the loving pets was want just like the other dogs.
