My cat isn't eating

I am fostering a cat for 3 months. It's my parents cat, hes a rescue and about 12. They went away and I took him. Hes been living in my apartment for about 10 days.

He has dry food and little treats available all day. I give him some wet food in the morning and evening. He licks it a little (it's mixed with a little water to help against kidney stones) and then makes a weird face like it tastes bad.

He doesn't eat the treats or his dry food. He has pooped and peed so he has something in his system. But he is already underweight.

I'm curious as to what I should do. Do I get him some fish, eggs, milk or just wait until hes desperate enough to eat? Hes cuddly and social. So I am wondering if it is just anxiety or depression because he is not around my parents and his usual home.

Any advice is appreciated
