I have an appointment first thing tomorrow for my hamster.
I took my last hamster to the same vet and I felt like I was being nickeled and dimed to death. My last hamster had a large bump on her face and the doctor there said that she will do a cytology that would cost $300. I paid the $300 and found that there is swelling. No cancer cells or anything. So I paid money and nothing was resolved and by the time I had money to visit the vet again the hamster passed away.
So this is making me reconsider going to another vet. But I don’t know if this practice is expected when going to the vet or if it’s typical in a VCA hospital.
