I've recently acquired a 8-9wk kitten from my best friend's sister and I have a family vacation coming up on Memorial Day weekend (May 24-28th, 2019). It's been five years since I have had a cat and an additional 3-4yrs since I've had to raise a kitten. I havent gotten his shots yet (I just got the kitten on May 5th) so I don't think I can send him to a boarding place. I talked to a friend to see if they could visit my cat for the four days till I rush back home, but in case they can't do it -- Should I just suck it up and not leave with my family? The kitten is already potty trained, eats dry food, and somewhat familiar with my tiny apartment I share with my mom and grandma. The worst case scenario, I'll be forced to get rid of the cat (already spent over 70$ on supplies) by my family and I don't want that to happen. I like the cat but he can't be alone for that much time without someone being around here. And I won't be in a place where I can put the cat in the carrier and have him with me. Much appreciate the advice.
