Cat behavior question - “nestling”

Hey all, My two year old, 13 pound male cat sometimes “ nestles” his face in the crook of my arm, or in my palm, or anywhere he can sort of “burrow” while we’re cuddling. He generally purrs a lot while he does it.

My first thought is that this is just affectionate behavior, as he likes to go under the blankets / feel “secure” in that way. But I’ve been reading a bit more into cat behavior, and after discovering that purring can sometimes be due to stress, I’m hoping to see if this seems to be just him feeling safe and comfortable (which is great), or maybe he’s feeling worried or something. Or, if it’s just a cat thing.
