I took in a stray a few months ago. I took her in to have her shots , then she was suppose to go back for the booster and to get spayed. The vet estimated her to be about two years old. However, while I was out of town one weekend and before she got her booster or spayed, my friend accidentally let her out.
I didn’t see her again until yesterday when she showed up on my porch. I took her back inside last night and this morning she gave birth to five kittens! (She looked bigger, but she didn’t look that big!)
She seems incredibly attentive and good to them. They’re in a box, in a private room, with towels and blanket. She’s eating really well, she’s drinking, and just generally they all seem to be doing great.
Except that her third eyelids are showing in both of her eyes. She did have them showing last night too, I just thought it was something that would go away.
My vet is closed tomorrow. Is this something she needs to be seen for asap? Is there anything I can do for her? And is she okay to be around the kittens? I tried Googling it, but it didn’t sound super positive.
