Considering Owning a Husky

Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this but the pet section makes sense?

As the title suggests, I am considering owning a Husky, specially Siberian. My partner and I are planning on renting a house in September. We are both in university 3 days a week and work the weekends. The 3 days in university have been different days thankfully, and sometimes she doesn't work the full weekend.

She currently owns an adult female dachshund. Financially we can afford the dogs. In terms of training I read and watch videos constantly on the subject and plan on going to courses, and have a good history with training dogs in general.

My only concern is not being there between 9-4 some days. I understand Husky's are high-energy, so I was hoping that me being a fitness enthusiast and running at least 30 minutes everyday would be enough for the dog (including one or two days of walking for hours a week.)

We also plan on living somewhat close to her family so I'm sure one of them would walk the dog if it really needed it.

Another concern is it being stolen, seems somewhat common here in the UK.

I understand people may suggest low-energy dogs, and this might be what's necessary, but I have wanted a Husky for a long time. I'm something of a wolf fanatic and I don't vibe with any other dog personality the way I do Husky's.

All feedback is appreciated!
