Dog foods that balance quality and affordability?

Hey Reddit,

I have two wonderful, healthy dogs--an 80 pound lab mix and a 13 pound chweenie, both very active. At their recent check up, our vet said that everything looks great, but strongly advised switching dog foods, as I have been using a low quality food and was duped into thinking it was much better quality. However, I'm a recent grad who will be taking on student loan payments soon, and some of these dog foods out there are 80 bucks a bag. My Lab, due to his size and activity level, eats a *lot of food, so this is not really sustainable for me at my current position in life. That being said, I want to give these lovely woofs the best health that I can within my means. Any suggestions on dog foods that are decent quality and also don't cost a kidney? Thanks.
