This is a bit weird and I haven't been able to find info online. My dog is potty trained and never poops when he's not supposed to EXCEPT when he smells another dog.
For example, I'll bring him to a friend's house with no dog and he's very well behaved. Bring him to a friend's house with a dog and he poops (even if the dog isn't there at the time). We brought him with us to Home Depot all the time and never had a problem. Brought him once after a dog was just there, and he poops!
He doesn't seem to mean to. He doesn't even squat, it just sort of.. slips out? Is it an anxiety thing? And if so, how can I help it? In the meantime I've stopped bringing him places.
Not sure if he was socialized much as a puppy. Got him from the shelter when he was about 2.
