I found a cat under my deck when I got home from work today. The cat was very friendly and relatively clean and clearly belongs to someone. I took him to the vet immediately and they told me there is no microchip, but we are taking the cat back tomorrow for a full work-up. We have two other cats and are currently keeping this one in our office with food, water, litter, blankets, and a few toys until he/she is medically cleared. In the meantime, I have posted on several social media platforms and notified the local humane society and police about this cat.
Is there anything else we should be doing? We plan on posting a few flyers in our area in case the owners are not on social media, but if this lasts for more than 2 or 3 days we want to let he/she out of our office and introduce to our other cats - it just doesn't seem fair for them to be in a small room for so long especially since they are so social and friendly.
Any advice on next steps would be super helpful.
