Getting a second kitten - should it stay separate from our current kitten?

Hi all, first time posting here so apologies if I break any rules.

My girlfriend and I adopted a kitten two weeks ago who was about 8 weeks old. They have been flead/wormed, and are having their vaccinations tomorrow. We are also now getting him a companion kitten, also 8 weeks old and are collecting tonight. She will come with us to the vets tomorrow for vaccinations.

We have had a look online, and opinions are mixed on whether they should meet tonight, or meet tomorrow after their vaccinations in case they have anything infectious and dangerous to the other (both being from different litters).

Does /r/pets have any experience, reliable sources or advice for this please?
