First of all, for some reason my mother just hates cats, as in she would go through great lengths just to get rid of them. Another thing is, growing up, I have never really taken care of my pets. So I've most likely given her valid reasons to not get me pets anymore. But I was a kid then. Now I have a huge sense of responsibility and I need a healthy distraction from my anxiety and depression; I truly believe this kitten is the answer for me. I've been trying to explain it to her before my birthday which is on August 5 and she just won't budge and even threatened to throw away my stuff toys or confiscate my phone.
Another thing to note is, my mom refuses to believe I have depression and anxiety, being a single mom since I was 4 years old (I salute to that strong woman, I'm so proud of her), the feeling of failure can hurt her deeply if I say anything about it and she can tend to struggle with accepting things such as this and let her anger issues take over.
Anyways, mind helping me convince her to let me have a kitten? I could really use the assistance.
