I hope this is the right channel, and if anything is wrong with the post, I am sorry I don't post often. Let me start from the beginning. About three weeks ago I saw a stray cat I have seen many times carrying what seemed to be a baby kitten in it's mouth. Then about a week later, the mother decided to move them again, and placed them in my window well. So we opened the window, and she moved them in. We made a make shift bed and they used it to their comfort. Now the kittens at the time seemed about 4 weeks old. We started to socialize with them, so we could get them used to people and find them good homes. Two days ago, I went to go find the kittens and only two, out of the litter of six, were left. Sad day, but it's nature and it happens. Maybe we made her feel threatened, maybe they were the runts and she didn't want them. I don't know. Now it gets a little interesting, we have an outside cat ourselves, she showed up and right away started to care for them. But is being very VERY protective, if the kittens get curious and try to wonder off. She will go out, grab them and bring them back, she will rest her paw on them to make them not move. Is there something going on I'm not aware of? Anything I can do? HELP!!
