Is it a normal thing for cats to drink out of the toilet?

I’m not a cat person, I’ve never owned an inside cat until we adopted our adult cat, Thor, a couple years ago. That cat is as chill and regal as they come, honestly the best cat ever. It surprised me when I caught him drinking from the toilet as I thought that was more of a dog thing, but I figured it was just a weird personality trait or something. Well fast forward a couple years and we adopt two new kittens, Loki and Biscuits (If we had a Thor we HAD to have a Loki. She’s even black with white paws. And Biscuits is my son’s kitty. He named him and he is responsible for him). I’ve now caught them drinking out of the toilet too. Is it a normal thing that all cats do, or did the kittens learn it from Thor? And they have plenty of water sources, the ones with constantly running water, so they don’t NEED the extra water from the toilet. It’s not a problem, I’m just curious.
