I have an 8 month old kitten who was recently treated for severe constipation. I brought him back to the vet today and it turns out that something else is obstructing his abdomen. They want to do an ultrasound because my vet thinks it is most likely an aggressive lymphoma which is affecting his ability to defecate.
The infrasound would be $550, or $850 if they see something and take a sample of it. I’m a working student and don’t have money for this, so I am sort of at a loss.
My cat is lethargic, weak, losing weight, and has an extremely greasy coat. I’m very heartbroken and want to do what’s best for him, but realistically I can’t pour thousands of dollars into potential treatment. The average diagnosis age for cats with this cancer is 9-13 years. I’m pretty unsettled and looking for advice, has anyone else experienced something similar? Or had a sick kitten?
