Lump on fancy goldfish

Hi I own a large fancy goldfish (fantail) who is approximately 4 years old and its about 10 cm long. It lives in a 50 Litre tank with one comet who is of similar age they get along fine.

About a month ago I noticed a lump that has developed on the base of the top fin of the fan tail. It caused some of the fin to rot, the comet didn't have any signs of fin rot. I used 'melafix' by API which over the next few days repaired the fin damage, however the lump still remains. The whole fin behind where the lump appeared was almost gone.

Around the same time I added an airstone to the tank, just for some context. I do about a 1\3rd water change weekly. The fan tail eats and socialises normally and isn't displaying any unusual behaviours. I'm not sure what the lump is or whats going on to have caused it.

I've attached some pictures of the lump, its the thing on its back with a whitish colouring. If anyone can give me some pointers that would help it would be much appreciated.
