I have an adorable and cuddly ragdoll cat, but when I take him to the vet he becomes the spawn of satan, making terrible noises and fighting the vet as if his life depends on it. The vet I used to go to, it would take two of the technicians or assistants to hold him still for the vet to actually do the checkup and give him his vaccines. I moved across the country and now the vet I've gone to with my other cat, said they can't treat my angry cat without putting him completely under as otherwise it would be a danger to them and to my cat. They also said they do in house visits, which I'm sure would relieve a little of the stress, but also make him hate visitors more than he already does (he doesn't attack people in our house, but he will usually just try to ignore them, and hiss at them if they get too close).
I really don't like the idea of having to have him put completely under just for a simple checkup and updating his vaccines, but I'm not really sure what the best plan is.
Anyone have any suggestions has to how to deal with an unruly cat at the vet?
