We own a Maltese and he is 5 years old . He has never been completely alone by himself for more than 4 hours and when his alone he parks and whimpers so loud that our neighbours have complained once already but it has not made it to management .
Tomorrow my wife starts a new job and we can’t afford dog day care and he won’t be supervised . We need to control his barking or else the building manager will find out and order us to get rid of our dog .
We’ve tried leaving the radio on , with a electric bark collar and a baby gate and he manages to whine and bark underneath the door still . We love him and we are stuck in a cross road on what we need to do ,
Any advice is greatly appreciated . I’m taking this to reddit because I don’t know what else to do .

( I know bark collars aren’t the best option but we have tried everything we could think of )
