So, last night at about 9, my fiancée gave our dog a pill called Proin. Proin is a prescription drug for bladder control. The prescription isn’t for our dog, but for her sister’s beagle. She gave him 25 mg. Our dog is a beagle/Bassett hound mix and is almost 13 years old, so he can’t hold it like he used to while we are at work. The problem is, we are now at 22 hours and he hasn’t urinated. I called the vet earlier today and he said if it’s over 24 hours, then bring him in tomorrow morning. I’m just kind of freaking out because there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do for him. I’ve tried making him drink water, which he does minimally right now. I’ve tried massaging his bladder, like my aunt (who is a veterinarian) said to do and he acts like it’s painful to the touch and snaps at me, which isn’t like him. He’s puked a couple of times today and I feel helpless. Do you guys know anything I can do to help my buddy?
