Hi all, hopefully this is the correct place to ask my question. I recently adopted a puppy, he's a little over three months old. He's a really sweet puppy and learns quickly, I have very little problems with him except for one thing. When he gets excited while playing, or wanting to play, he gets very rough. The main issue is the biting, which is hard enough to break skin and cause bleeding. :\ I've looked at many websites for clues on how to stop this behavior, and they all recommend to put a toy in his mouth, or say "ow" loudly to signal that the bite was too hard. None of these tricks work for him, and I'm at a loss on what to do. I dislike having to put him in his cage until he settles down, mainly because I don't want to associate his crate with something negative like timeout. Any help would be much appreciated, and thank you in advance.
