I am an upcoming medical student considering what pets would work for my situation. My ideal pet would be a cat. Unfortunately, I have a moderate to severe allergy towards cats so that seems to be off the table. I've done some research on other animals, such as hamsters, but I have little to no experience with these animals and there aren't many shelters in my area that offer those animals. Any recommendations for pets I should consider?
