I am wanting to get a cat, it's been a few years since my last one. My SO's mom visits us every few months but she's allergic to cats but can tolerate most of the "hypoallergenic" ones, and my SO insists we make sure she can tolerate the cat when she visits. So I'm wondering if there are any places that we could get the cats singled out with her mom to make sure she isn't allergic, without being affected by all the other cats in the building? Is this something that would be possible at most shelters or adoption facilities?
For reference I live in Huntsville, AL.
