Why do cats go missing

Just a month a ago, my cat Luna went missing. I live on a farm and all of my cats are outdoor cats, and they come and go as they please. Well, Luna hasn't been back in over a month. I live near on a small farm near some small woods in a relatively suburban area, so I do think that is very possible that she was eaten by a bobcat or a coyote, even though I have never seen one around here before. I have hung up posters and posted her picture on lost pet websites with no luck, although I have had a few people text me saying that they saw a cat similar to mine, but all of the texts I received were from people that lived miles away. I've pretty much just accepted that Luna is very likely dead, but just this week my other cat Morris has disappeared. I've looked everywhere for him, including all over the woods behind my house with no sight of him alive or dead. It is also possible that Morris ran away out of jealousy, since just recently I got two new cats and he didn't seem to like them very much. I am devastated. Has any one else had a similar experience with their cats?
