Beanie and her peeing...

I used to foster cats for years and kept those that had no hope of finding new homes. Bean was one of them, abandoned by her fetal mother because she was very sick, original vet diagnosis was cerebral hypoplasia and hydrocephalus. I really didn’t think she’d make it. But here we are 3 years later and apart from the CH and some ongoing dermatitis, she’s pretty healthy. But the peeing! She is litter trained and uses the tray 50% of the time. If her skin flares up she will often pee on random cloth things she finds (laundry my kids have missed actually getting in the basket, a coat that’s fallen off a hook) but she’s always had a thing for mattresses. I’ve had to dump 8 mattresses in 3 years due to kids not closing doors, but I just buy cheap ones now in case it happens again. But this past year I’ve had to dump 2 sofas due to her peeing on them. It’s completely out of the blue, not something she’s done before, but not something I can financially keep up with (tried getting them cleaned, turns out she’s gone back time and again) Recently she’s been doing ok so I’ve let her lie on my bed with me on the rare morning I’ve been able to go back to bed with bills etc to sort. She has laid sleeping for hours and been put out once I leave. Last night I went to the toilet and left my bedroom door open for a few minutes, she was straight in and peed on my duvet, luckily I got it before it went through to the mattress but I have a nice down duvet that was not happy to be washed! Has anyone had any experience with special needs cats that do this? I’ve tried every different litter tray combination you can imagine and there’s no pattern. Vet can find no urinary issues, she’s on steroids every 3/4 months for her skin but I can find no pattern with that either. I can keep her out of bedrooms but keeping her out of our living room as well is getting cruel. We have 6 other cats that’s she’s lived either her whole life or for the past 2 years.
