Hi, my boyfriend and I have a lab mix (unsure of other breeds he’s mixed with) and he just turned one. For the past few months I have noticed that around his crotch area and inner hind legs he started developing small bumps, like a lot. Upon further inspection, they look like genital warts, similar to ones on humans in STD’s or HPV. Also (sorry to be so graphic but he’s my baby and I worry for him) he has a lot of the times what looks like scabbing and pus coming out of the tip of his penis/foreskin? He has not been sexually active with any dogs as we keep an eye on him when he’s outside and keep him on a leash in public places. Could this be an STD that his mother passed on to him during birth? Or is this something else??? Should we be worried? And is this something we should seek out medical treatment for him? We don’t have a lot of money, that’s why we haven’t taken him to a vet yet, but we 100% will if we have to as he is like our child.
