Hi, I am asking this because to me the answer is unclear. My 12 year old dog, a Rat Terrier named Peco, and my 3 month old dog, a Olde English Bulldog named Splitty sometimes love each other. Sometimes they ignore each other. Peco is never mean to Splitty, but she doesn't really play with him all that much. One a good day they will play tug-a-war or play chase. Then some days Peco had nothing to do with him.
There both sweet babies, so it's hard to tell if Peco is a friend or just a dog putting up with another dog. I know Splitty is best friends with my Great Dane beacuse they play hard and snuggle, but this is not the case with Peco.
