This sounds terrible. She was a stray. Her separation anxiety is so terrible we may have to rehome her :( she is a 2 and a half year old Swiss Shepherd.
The first time we left her alone (the next night) was for 10 minutes to start laundry down stairs. She ate through the blinds.
So we got a kennel, one of those wire ones. She is never in it more than a few hours at a time, at most 4. She literally bends the metal in the kennel to get out using her nose and the parts in between her paw till the point they are all bloody.
Other than that she is the nicest dog in the world! I love her so much I don't want to get rid of her but I can't afford another kennel (she destroyed this one) or another cone (we got one to try to keep her from using her nose to bend the metal, but she figured out how to get it off) or the carpet (she dug through it and the carpet padding when we were gone for 2 hours one night. Through the side of her kennel.)
Please. Help.
I don't want to lose her:(
My wife starts school in 2 weeks at which point she'll be in the kennel more for longer so we can't have that and will need to rehome her in a week if we can't fix this :(
