Hey everyone!
My 11 week old kitten has been in our house since Saturday and currently lives in his safe room (my bedroom).
Since him and my 15 year old dog aren’t used to each other yet, I intend to keep him in his safe room until they are. (Dog is generally calm and just weirded out by kitten, but there’s been two occasions where he tried to chase him, not in a playful way)
Needless to say, right now it’s not safe for the kitten to explore the rest of the house. He has a litter box, food and water, lots of toys and sleeping locations, as well as a cat tree in my room. He’s happy here, but curious about what’s out there.
Today, he started door dashing. Not when I’m leaving, but rather when I’m trying to come back in. Thing is, he’s so tiny that I can’t block his body. He’ll find away around me in no time and dart out of the room to explore the house.
Is there any way to train away this behavior and get him to stop darting towards open doors?
Thank you in advance.
