I have a 12 year old cat that has been alone the whole time. Recently, I got a 3 month old kitten. Initially, they hissed and everything which was perfectly understandable. Then their relationship actually improved relatively quickly, and they ate from the same bowl, slept on same bed, and everything. Infact, the cat wanted to play with the kitten, but the Kitten was too scared. But the point was that they were getting close. Then one day their relationship got suddenly worse: as in the cat would growl everytime she saw the kitten. I think this is because the kitten aggressively chases the cat's tail, even after retaliation from the older cat. The cat is probably just stressed out from this, because the kitten won't listen.
It's been about a few weeks since this happened and I think their relationship got a whole lot worse. What should I do?
