I'm not sure if this is the right sub for this but Google doesn't help. So I found a bat flying around my room tonight and I couldn't get him in a net. So I grabbed a sticky board mouse trap thing and got his wing stuck on it. I took him outside but I didn't want to kill him. I know that dish soap works to dissolve adhesive. So I spent about 40 minutes tonight applying soap to his stuck wing and pulling the board while he held onto the concrete and we both just slowly pulled away from one another. Eventually after what seemed like ages his wing came loose of the sticky trap. He is now just crawling around on the ground and isn't flying away. There does not seem to be any damage to the wing itself but he might have damaged ligaments or something. I'm worried that I damaged his wing too much to be able to fly again. Does anyone have any knowledge of bats and if so do you think I've killed this bat or he may recover.
