I currently live by myself (no pets) in a large-ish 1 bedroom apartment (800 sq ft). I was considering adopting a kitty that will be three months old in September to come live with me. Here's where it gets tricky: my girlfriend has a small dog (basset hound mix) that is incredibly sweet and calm. They are both moving in until the end of the year.
I am now concerned that it's either too many animals for my apartment, or that they won't get along. Is it a bad idea to adopt the cat?
