Hi Reddit. I am looking for some advice on my dogs nails.
I have two medium sized dogs, a hound mix and an Australian cattle dog mix.
When their nails get long they get surprisingly sharp so I need to get them trimmed. I prefer to get them ground to just clipping them because clipping still leaves sharp edges.
I usually take them both to Petsmart, which is not to bad in convenience and price, but, I am starting to wonder if this is something I can do myself.
Has anyone had any experience grinding their dogs nails at home (that is not also a vet or a groomer and professionally trained.)
If so is there any tips or tricks you can suggest to how an amateur would learn to do something like this?
Also what tools I might need. I have looked up nail grinders on amazon and compared a few but I always like to get recommendations if people have them.
