Ugh y’all... I’m so ashamed and upset. This morning I found a flea on my foot, and one on my dog. I know there has to be more. My scalp has been so itchy this past week or so and I’m terrified I found the problem.
I know my dog has been scratching but only occasionally. I took him to get a bath because I thought maybe his skin was dry and irritated. I just now put flea and tick gel on his back.
I’ve never dealt with fleas before in my life. I’m up at 5am ( this is not my normal ) washing all bedding and blankets in hot water and plan to thoroughly vacuum our apartment. ( I am so sorry our dear complex neighbors. )
What else can I do? Should I call an exterminator? At what level is it an infestation? Should I just burn the apartment down and start all over? Starting to consider the last option.. ( joking. ) This is just another thing that’s spiking my anxiety and shame. Our apartment isn’t dirty, just a little cluttered due to lack of space and organization. But my parents and older sister keep telling me our apartment is dirty and now with fleas I feel like they’re right.
