So I have an under 1 year old kitty, his name is Gizmo and hes a wee tuxedo/ragdoll mix, absolutely lovely little boy. Loves cuddling with me, is super affectionate, and loves playing fetch and chasing us around the house.
The problem comes for when its time to go to bed. Obviously because cats are nocturnal I expect him to be up and awake during the night, but likely because he does sleep all day he is insanely hyper as soon as the lights go out. He runs around the bedroom like a nutter, jumps on our headboard and then onto our heads, scratches the bed, knocks over glasses of water, our phones and glasses, etc. Things he doesnt do during the day, I know he probably just wants attention but its impossible to sleep when he does this, and my boyfriend has 0 patience for it, so we always end up sitting him outside on his kitty bed and shutting the door. I always feel extremely guilty doing this cause i know he just wants to play with us and he'll often times paw the door over and over to be let in.
What i want to know is if there is a way to train him so he's not harrassing us all night and we can keep the door open so he can come in and go as he pleases? Any advice? Thanks! xx
