How do you identify stress between cats?

Good morning! Although I feel like I'm overusing Reddit, I need your help again!

I believe my cats are not getting along. I got them about two weeks ago and they were said to be sisters, but they're rescue cats so it's not sure. They were said to be getting along so well that they would only be given away as a couple.

But since cats behave differently in different environments, relationships change, right? The thing is, one cat, Asuka, has started attacking the other cat, Arya, when she is playing with toys (and they have a lot of toys!) or when she is cleaning herself. They even have begun stalking each other like prey from time to time. Sometimes Asuka chases Arya under the bed and then they both sit at one side of one entrance to the space under the bed.

I thought they were playing fight at first, because they didn't hiss and I saw no claws, but now Arya hisses and leans backward with her ears back and eyes half closed when Asuka jumps at her.

On the other side, they sleep next to each other and sometimes lick each other, they have separate food bowls and separate toilets and I tried to provide hiding spaces and elevated places for both of them.

What am I supposed to do? Are they really starting to fight with each other or is it just a slight annoyance from time to time?
