I need help with my cat in the face of my own health issues (Long Post)

My cat is around 8 years old. She keeps bringing up undigested or partially digested food shortly after she eat no matter what I do. I've tried feeding her smaller more frequent meals but it doesn't seem to help that much and she will whine after eating the small amounts of food. I've tried automatic feeders, elevated bowls and slow feeder bowls. I have tried at least 10 different types of foods including dry, wet, hypoallergenic, stomach sensitive, novel protein, etc,.

When I have tried elevated bowls and slow feeder bowls she is smart and plucks the food out without slowing down much at all. I've also given her canned food but that comes back up as well and it's absolutely a mess to clean off furniture. She will even bring up canned food that is basically just shredded chicken breast with nothing else of much substance in it.

She has a clean bill of health from her vet except for having a defect with her upper esophagus muscle where food takes a while to travel down to the stomach. There is no medical fix for this as it's the upper muscle - I already consulted with vet internal medicine. They said try using an elevated feeding bowl and experimenting with different foods for symptomatic management.

She continues to maintain her weight, eat and drink, and use the litter box without fail.

Because she is regurgitating often (the internal medicine vet was adamant it was not vomiting based on all the information presented) it seems like she has an awful quality of life. She will bring up the food, make a lot of noise during the day like she is sad as well.

Aside from the esophagus defect she has no found health issues. Her blood tests are normal, they examined her dental, abdominal ultrasound found nothing, and x-rays found nothing. Her only issue is a mechanical one that can't really be fixed.

I am really worried because I have my own substantial health problems and this issue is causing me a lot of unneeded stress and she has had this problem since I got her 4 years ago.

My cat came from the street/shelter and has always had the mindset that she needs to eat food as fast as possible because the next meal may not come.

The next thing I am going to try is some canned pate firmer food that takes a lot of effort to eat. From what I can read cats don't really chew their food (they seem to tear it into smaller pieces) so dry food seems problematic over all. I plan to put her in a closed room for 30 minutes while eating. I guess at least the potential mess will be contained for the experiment.

I just don't know how much longer I can keep trying different things because I already have a lot of stress from my own health issues. I try to never get upset with my cat because it's not like she wants to be throwing her food back up, but I sometimes find myself just wanting to scream even though I don't actually do so.
