Apologies for the way this may be written, I'm using mobile.
This is more of a confession than anything else.
I have 3 cats, my 4 year old girl who is just an absolute dream, and 2 8 month old boys.
Now, I understand that cats are hectic and just plain bonkers, I have had them from kitten my entire life. I love their craziness and the fact that they are just massive, sharp clawed derps.
But...one of them is just a fucking bastard. I have never in all my days, known a cat to be so destructive, and just down right twatty.
Here is a list of the things he has done in the past week or so:
• Pissed in my plant pots • Emptied my plant pots of all the soil • Eaten his own body weight in houseplants (and then puked them back up again) • Shredded bits of carpet trying to claw his way through every closed door in the house • Destroyed my mantelpiece display and hidden half of the candles that used to be there • Shredded my curtains • Pulled wallpaper off in 3 different spots • Splashes around in my fish tank looting the plants from in there too (and also puts soil into the tank somehow) • Knocked everything off shelves trying to get into the most ridiculous places
This is just a small list of stuff...there is something ridiculous on a daily basis.
I love my cats dearly, they are my babies. But this one is just a nightmare, and I am really struggling to cope with him at the moment. They are indoor cats for numerous reasons, but have a huge cat climbing frame, scratch poles and more toys than the dog. They spend all day playing together around the house but it always has to involve destroying something. I'm scared we wont even get our deposit back for the house at this rate.
Rehoming isn't an option because although I could kill him sometimes, i still like him a bit, and the rest of my family adore him. I just dont know how to stop him from wrecking the house. I know he will calm down eventually but is there anything I can do to to deter him from furniture and wallpaper? He doesnt react to catnip and moving plants etc only works for a little while until he finds a way to get them by destroying everything in his path!
