I adopted a cat last week, and I am thinking of changing her name because it is almost identical to my roommate’s cat. Also, she has the same name as my grandma, which is a kind of weird to me. The issue is that she is about 12-13 years old. She lived with her previous owner for over 10 years, so it is not just a name the shelter gave her. I know that pets don’t have any sentimental feelings attached to their name, but I don’t want to cause too much confusion for her. Do you think renaming her would be too confusing in an already stressful situation, or just go ahead and change it?
