I brought my dog to the vet today and was told he has a high fever of 109 °F. They said it was due to his low blood platelet. They said it can either be some Autoimmune disease or Cancer. They need to run more tests to see what exactly is wrong but my family and I don't have enough money to bring him to one of the larger Vet Hospitals to get him better care, so for now they gave me medication to give him for his immune system. Some steroids (Prednisone) and Doxycycline. Right now I want figure out how to get his temperature down to take care of his fever at least for a little while before figuring out what to do for money.
Can anyone provide some help/advice?
